Vecchia strada per il commercio fiancheggiata da numerose abitazioni una volta adibite a botteghe adornate con portali di ardesia scolpiti. L’edificio al numero 27 è di sobria fattura classicistica (1500-1600), lo stemma di famiglia ormai quasi abraso lascia ancora intravedere il motto latino “Sine columna cadet”, la colonna simboleggiante la fede in Dio. I portali scolpiti al numero 38 e 42 risalgono alla seconda metà del 1400. A metà del percorso, la casa con doppio loggiato, è bell’esempio di architettura seicentesca. La parte bassa del centro storico mostra costruzioni più elaborate a seguito del periodo di benessere del quale la zona beneficiò sotto il periodo della Repubblica di Genova.

Via Ponte
This was the old trade road lined with numerous houses once used for commercial purposes. Many of these buildings are still decorated with lovely carved slate portals. The building at number 27 is in classicism style (1500-1600): its family crest has now eroded but you can still read the Latin motto "Sine columna cadet" (without the column it will fall) - the column symbolizing one’s faith in God. The carved portals at numbers 38 and 42 date back to the second half of the 15th century. Half way up the lane, the house with a double loggia is a beautiful example of 17th century architecture. The lower part of the historic centre shows more elaborate constructions following a period of prosperity which the area benefited from, under the rule of the Republic of Genoa.
